Macallan Edition No 3 Abv 48.3% Vol 70cl

Description

Macallan Edition No 3

• Collaboration: Macallan Edition No 3 is unique because it was a collaboration between The Macallan’s Whisky Maker, Bob Dalgarno, and master perfumer Roja Dove. The focus of this release was on the power of aroma in the whisky experience.

• Cask Selection: To achieve the desired aromatic profile, a combination of six different cask types—both American and European oak, first-fill and refill—were used. This diverse selection of barrels contributed to a complex and layered whisky.

• ABV: 48.3%

• Release: The whisky was released in 2017.

Tasting Notes:

The collaboration with a perfumer is evident in the rich and complex sensory experience of Edition No. 3.

• Colour: Barley gold.

• Nose: A fine fragrance with notes of vanilla ice cream, fresh cut oak, and delicate florals. Hints of orange oil, ginger, cinnamon, and nutmeg flit in and out, with a subtle sweetness leading to citrus fruits and a hint of chocolate.

• Palate: Sweet fruit, vanilla, and a rich fruitcake character with suggestions of apricot, pear, and crisp green apple. The palate is balanced by hints of ginger and a light, resinous oak.

• Finish: Long, sweet, and fruity, leaving a lasting impression.

As a limited release Macallan Edition No 3 is a highly sought after whisky for collectors and whisky enthusiasts .
