What Makes the 2026 Release Different?

While the 2025 version focused purely on Maker’s signature soft red winter wheat, the 2026 release expands the recipe to showcase how different varietals of wheat impact flavor. It blends three distinct, estate-grown grains:

1. Soft Red Winter Wheat: Brings the signature rich sweetness, cinnamon, and fig notes.

2. Hard White Wheat: Adds a silky texture and vibrant complexity.

3. Heirloom Hard Red Wheat: Contributes bright fruit notes and lingering spice.

The final liquid is a blend of two distinct mash bills (one 100% malted wheat, and one 70% wheat / 30% malted barley). The master blending team unified these into a final breakdown of62% malted wheat, 27% wheat, and 11% malted barley.

Tasting Profile:

• Aroma: Noticeably darker and denser than last year, opening with heavy molasses, rich fig, and delicate baking spices.

• Palate: Full-bodied and vibrant. Zesty citrus and ripe pear contrast against a buttery, rich shortbread mid-palate.
