Description
Background:
Penderyn Icons Of Wales Royal Welsh No 6 commemorates the original Welsh Whisky distillery at Frongoch, near Bala, which closed over 100 years ago. In 1895, the Welsh Whisky Co. received a royal warrant, leading to the creation of “Royal Welsh Whisky.” The Penderyn release pays homage to this historical predecessor.
Tasting Notes:
Nose: A delicate smoky peat with notes of vanilla, light red berries, and salted caramel.
Taste: The smoky notes become more pronounced on the palate, with sweet, smoky toffee and treacle, a trace of cracked black pepper, malted barley, and the soft sweetness of fudge.
Finish: The smokiness slowly recedes, leaving a lingering, delicate vanilla and wood spice note.
