The Mastery release is a testament to the distillery’s 200 years of whisky-making expertise. It draws inspiration from the legacies of past masters and the wide variety of cask styles available to The Macallan.

Cask selection: Macallan Time Space Mastery is a non-age statement single malt, crafted from a combination of 14 different cask types, including sherry-seasoned European and American oak, as well as American oak bourbon casks. This blend of casks creates a whisky with layers of complexity and depth.

Unique design: Macallan Time Space Mastery is presented in a circular vessel that symbolizes the “circle of life” and the continuous journey from the past to the future. This is housed in an eye-catching red presentation case adorned with 200 origami-inspired spikes, representing each year of the distillery’s history and nature’s protection of its future.

Tasting notes:

Colour: Warm cherry.

Nose: Sumptuous Medjool dates, sweet baked figs, and rich milk chocolate, with delicate hints of honey and tropical fruit notes like dried mango and papaya. The aroma is “encapsulated by complex sweet oak.”

Palate: A distinct sweetness with sherry-seasoned dried fruits, orange marmalade, and honeycomb. Soft spiced notes of ginger and cinnamon develop.

Finish: Bursts of caramelized pineapple and creamy vanilla linger, balanced by subtle notes of dark chocolate and coffee.

Release: The Macallan Time Space Mastery was originally released via a ballot in September 2024.
