The advertisement featured on the packaging tells the humorous story of a group of scientists (the “boffins”) who were invited to the distillery to explain why The Macallan was so special. Unable to find a scientific rationale for the “magic” occurring inside the sherry casks, the scientists were depicted as being completely perplexed—eventually insisting on taking an entire cask back to their laboratory for “further research.”

Macallan The Archival Series Folio 7 is crafted to embody Macallan’s signature rich, fruity, and natural colour profile from its sherry-seasoned oak maturation.

Colour: Golden honey.

Nose: Aromas of rich dried fruits (raisins, figs), baked apple and pear, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, chocolate, orange, and oak.

Palate: Raisins, fig, milk chocolate, orange peel, vanilla, baked fruits, and light spices. It has a rich, velvety texture.

Finish: Long and creamy with lingering notes of dried fruit and warm spices.
