Description

Macallan Edition No 6  takes its inspiration from the natural wonders of The Macallan Estate, specifically the legendary River Spey, which runs through the grounds. It highlights the harmony between whisky making and nature.

Collaboration: The release was a collaboration between The Macallan and the Atlantic Salmon Trust, a charity dedicated to the conservation of wild Atlantic salmon, which are a prominent feature of the River Spey.

Cask Selection: Macallan Edition No 6 was crafted by The Macallan’s Whisky Maker, Steven Bremner, using a combination of five different cask types:

First-fill sherry-seasoned European oak butts.

First-fill sherry-seasoned American oak hogsheads.

First-fill sherry-seasoned American oak butts.

Second-fill American oak hogsheads.

Second-fill European oak butts.

Tasting Notes

Colour: Antique brass.

Aroma: Rich fresh fruits, nutmeg, ginger, chocolate, toffee, vanilla, and oak.

Palate: Plum and sweet orange, cinnamon, nutmeg, balanced oak, toffee, and oats.

Finish: Long, with fresh fruit and spices that transition into creamy chocolate and toasted oats.

As the final release in a popular limited series,  Macallan Edition No 6 is highly sought after by collectors and enthusiasts.
