Description

Lochlea 7 Year Old 2026

While the 2025 release was a 6-year-old that used a mix of Bourbon and Sherry casks, the 2026 7-year-old goes back to a pure Bourbon maturation. This was a deliberate choice by Distillery Manager Darren McCormick to showcase how the raw spirit has evolved since 2018 without the heavy influence of Sherry.

Tasting Profile:

Stage Notes
Nose Very creamy, “fatty” texture, stewed apples, and vanilla custard.
Palate Rich mouthfeel, tropical fruits (pineapple/peach), and fresh oak.
Finish Buttery pastry, cereal, warming spice, and a sharp “snap” of green apple.
