? Profile & Tasting Notes

Glencadam is often known for its delicate, fruity, and slightly citrusy character (often described as “the rather dignified” malt). The high cask strength of this release, combined with the active first-fill bourbon cask, takes that elegant profile and amps up the intensity.

Nose: Richly fruity with notes ofvanilla ice cream, ripe apples, peaches, and melon. At full strength, the high alcohol brings a sharp note of white pepper and spice, which mellows with water to reveal butterscotch and malty sweetness.

Palate: Creamy and mouth-coating despite the high ABV. Dominant flavors are creamy vanilla, honeyed malt, and oak spice. It carries the fruit from the nose—pears, baked apples—but adds layers of ginger, cinnamon, and perhaps a touch of bitter grapefruit or resin from the active oak.

Finish: Very long and warming due to the high strength. It finishes with lingering notes of dry oak, nutmeg, and the continued sweetness of vanilla and spice.
