Tasting Experience
The use of Mizunara is notorious for being difficult (the “water oak” is porous and prone to leaking), but it provides a very specific flavor profile that complements the GlenAllachie spirit:
Nose: Heather honey, dried orange peel, and crystallized ginger, with deeper notes of toasted tobacco and cocoa.
Palate: “Indulgence at its finest”—think apple strudel, runny honey, and chocolate-covered hazelnuts.
Finish: A long, warming finish with bursts of cinnamon, fig syrup, and a lingering sandalwood spice from the Mizunara.
