Foursquare Equidem Barbados Rum 14 Year Old 2024 Release Abv 61%
£145.00
Foursquare Equidem (Mark XXVII) is the 27th release in the globally revered Exceptional Cask Selection (ECS) series from the Foursquare Rum Distillery in Barbados. Master Distiller Richard Seale dropped this bottle in late 2024, and it quickly cemented its status as one of the most unique and highly awarded entries in the entire ECS lineage.
True to Foursquare’s strict philosophy, Equidem is a “Single Blended Rum”—meaning it is a blend of heavy copper pot still distillate and lighter twin-column still distillate, aged, blended, and bottled entirely at the distillery without any added sugars, artificial flavorings, or chill filtration.

Description
The Black Muscat Experiment
What makes Equidem a massive talking point for rum geeks is the secondary maturation wood. While Richard Seale has famously used Port, Madeira, Zinfandel, and Sherry casks in the past, Equidem marks the distillery’s first-ever use of Black Muscat casks.
Black Muscat is an intensely aromatic, sweet dessert wine known for deep floral, red-berry, and rich chocolate-raisin characteristics. The rum spent its first 5 years lounging in standard ex-bourbon barrels before being transferred into these sweet wine casks for a lengthy 9-year finishing slumber.
Because it spent nearly double the time in the wine wood compared to the bourbon wood, the Black Muscat influence is deeply woven into the spirit rather than just sitting on top of it.
