Shenk’s Kentucky Sour Mash Whiskey 2024

An annual release from Michter’s, Shenk’s Homestead is a limited-edition Kentucky sour mash whiskey created to honour the legacy of John Shenk who, in 1753, founded the distillery that became known as Michter’s in the 20th Century. The whiskey contains a substantial amount of rye and is made following a traditional sour mash process, whereby a portion of the previously distilled whiskey mash, known as setback is added into the next batch. Matured in French oak casks sourced from the Vosges region which were naturally air-dried and seasoned for 24 months, and toasted to Michter’s precise specifications.
