Series: It is the 13th release in Penderyn’s “Icons of Wales” collection.
Collaboration: This edition celebrates the 10th anniversary of Bad Wolf, the Cardiff-based television production company known for shows like Doctor Who, His Dark Materials, and Industry.
Age and Maturation: It is a 10-year-old single malt, which is Penderyn’s first 10-year-old single malt release. It was fully matured in old Tawny Port pipes (casks that previously held port wine for around 60 years).
ABV: Bottled at 46% ABV.
Penderyn Bad Wolf Tasting Notes:
Nose: Delicate floral tones (orange blossom, soft rose petals) followed by warm, spiced richness of fruitcake, red and golden raisins, fig jam, and fresh red berries (strawberries, raspberries).
Palate: A luscious blend of stewed dark fruits and lighter orchard notes. A balance of sweet and saline, revealing layers of toffee, marzipan, and bittersweet marmalade. It is deep yet balanced, lifted by gentle oak and subtle spice.
Finish: Long and evolving, with lingering notes of dried apricot and salted caramel dusted with nutmeg.
