The Whisky:

• Domestic Release: Unlike its counterpart, Macallan Harmony Collection “Smooth Arabica,” which was a travel retail exclusive, Intense Arabica was made available through domestic retail channels.
• Collaboration: The whisky was crafted by Macallan Whisky Maker Steven Bremner, who collaborated with a team of coffee experts to select casks that would complement the coffee-inspired flavour profile. The partnership aimed to replicate the flavours of fine coffee in a single malt.
• Cask Selection: This single malt was matured in a combination of European and American oak sherry-seasoned casks, which were specifically chosen to impart flavours that would harmonize with coffee.
• ABV: It is bottled at 44% ABV.

Tasting Notes:

The tasting notes are designed to evoke the experience of a rich and intense cup of coffee.

• Colour: “Crema” – a warm, rich amber.
• Nose: Rich aromas of tiramisu, cappuccino, gingerbread, raisins, and almonds, with hints of sweet oak and vanilla.
• Palate: Flavors of dark chocolate, espresso, raisins, and tiramisu, with notes of blackberry, vanilla, Brazil nut, and sweet oak.
• Finish: A long, dark roast coffee profile that is balanced and sweet.

Packaging :

In keeping with the Harmony Collection’s theme of sustainability, the packaging for the Macallan Harmony Collection Intense Arabica is a key feature. The presentation box and bottle label are made from repurposed coffee bean husks, a sustainable byproduct of the coffee-making process. The packaging itself reflects the whisky’s theme, giving new life to a material that would otherwise be discarded.
