Longrow Peated Single Malt is a distinctive and highly regarded expression from the Springbank Distillery in Campbeltown, Scotland. It’s one of three distinct single malts produced by Springbank, alongside the namesake Springbank (medium-peated, 2.5 times distilled) and Hazelburn (unpeated, triple distilled).

Flavour Profile (Longrow Peated NAS, general notes):

Longrow Peated provides a distinctly Campbeltown take on peat—it is often described as more earthy, maritime, and “dirty” or “funky” compared to the highly medicinal or intensely ashy smoke of many Islay whiskies.

Nose: Often described as very creamy with vanilla custard, toasted marshmallows, and developing smoke that doesn’t overpower. Herbal notes, rich fruits, and a characteristic Campbeltown coastal or mineralic undertone are common. Some detect a slight medicinal or TCP note.

Palate: Incredibly well-balanced, rich, and creamy. The smoke is always present, washing over the palate in waves, often described as soft and billowy. Hints of a slight medicinal quality, sweet malt, and sometimes dried fruit or even a touch of pineapple. It tends to be oily and full-bodied.
