Description

About John Rae: John Rae (1813–1893) was a Scottish surgeon and Arctic explorer. He worked for the Hudson’s Bay Company and became a renowned Arctic traveler. He is known for mapping over 1,750 miles of uncharted Arctic coastline on foot or in a small boat.

Tasting Notes:

Colour: Light, golden, clear, and bright.

Aromas: Heather honey, sweet flowering currant, and a hint of charred driftwood.

Flavor Profile: The whisky has a “wild harmony” of toasted vanilla, caramelized grapefruit, and honeyed peat smoke. Notes of whipped vanilla cream and toffee sponge cake are attributed to the ex-bourbon casks, while the sherry seasoned casks contribute notes of caramelized grapefruit and citrus zest. A sweet breath of aromatic peat smoke lingers on the finish.

This remarkable whisky is a testament to history and craftsmanship, appealing to both connoisseurs and casual drinkers alike.
