Glenmorangie A Tale of Tokyo is the fourth release in the distillery’s “A Tale of…” series, launched in late 2023. Created by Dr. Bill Lumsden, this Highland single malt is a tribute to the sensory contrasts of Japan’s capital—blending tradition with ultra-modernism.
The standout feature of this release is the use of Japanese Mizunara oak, a first for Glenmorangie.

The creation ofGlenmorangie A Tale of Tokyo is a blend of traditional Scottish engineering and a high-stakes wood experiment involving rare Japanese oak.
Tasting Notes
Nose: Aromatic and herbal. You’ll find sandalwood and incense (from the Mizunara) layered over dried cherries, vanilla, and the trademark Glenmorangie “tangy orange” note.
Palate: A silky mouthfeel with a “fizzy” or peppery spark. It features flavors of bitter cherries, fennel, and orange zest, transitioning into sweeter notes of toffee apple and marzipan.
Finish: Long and slightly nutty, dominated by mandarin, toasted almonds, and a resinous woodiness.
