Glenmorangie A Tale of Spices is a limited-edition single malt Scotch whisky that is the sixth release in the distillery’s “A Tale Of…” series. Launched on September 2, 2025, the whisky is a creation of Dr. Bill Lumsden, Glenmorangie’s Director of Whisky Creation. The expression is inspired by the vibrant and complex aromas of a spice market.
Key Features
Maturation: This is the first time Glenmorangie has used four different cask types to finish a single expression. The whisky, which started its life in ex-bourbon barrels, was finished in:
Moroccan red wine casks (a first for Glenmorangie)
New charred oak casks
Shaved and toasted red wine casks
Pedro Ximénez (PX) sherry casks
Proof: Bottled at 46% ABV.
Awards: The whisky has already been recognized with a Gold award at the International Spirits Competition 2025.

Glenmorangie A Tale Of Spices Tasting Notes
The multi-cask maturation is designed to create a complex and layered flavor profile that is both sweet and spicy.
Nose: Expect a wonderfully perfumed and aromatic nose with a blend of floral and spicy notes. Common aromas include rose, carnation, jasmine, and lilac, along with a mosaic of spices like cumin, saffron, nutmeg, ginger, chili, and anise.
Palate: The mouthfeel is described as vibrant and sizzling with spices such as ginger, black pepper, and mustard seed. These are balanced by a soft sweetness of mint toffee, demerara sugar, and sugar-coated almonds. A distinct eucalyptus note is also frequently mentioned, adding a refreshing lift.
Finish: The finish is long and lingering, with notes of clove, leather, and peppermint, leaving a warm and complex impression on the palate.
