From initial maturation in American White Oak ex-Bourbon barrels, Luminary No.3 has been finished in a bold combination of seven cask types, including both vintage and aged Calvados, rare Matusalem Sherry, rare Apostoles Sherry, select red wine casks from Bordeaux and Châteauneuf-du-Pape and fully matured American White Oak.

Introducing The Dalmore Luminary No. 3, an exquisite liquid aged for 17 years, and the latest addition to The Dalmore Luminary series. With just 20,000 bottles being sold world-wide, you’ll find that this is a must-have collector’s item, with a unique style of maturation. Originally matured in American white oak ex-bourbon barrels, the dram was then finished in an astonishing combination of seven cask types before finally being brought together in the bottle. The casks used included vintage calvados, rare sherry, and hand-selected red wine barriques.
Now bottled at 49.2% abv for easy drinking, you’ll find delectable notes of orchard fruits, delicate rose, warm vanilla, and a hint of cinnamon spice on the nose, before delving into a mouth-watering palate of butterscotch, wood spices, red apples, and Seville oranges, and a finish fresh baked brioche and lingering cassia bark.
The 2025 Edition of The Luminary Series is created by acclaimed architect Ben Dobbin, Senior Partner at Foster + Partners, in partnership with The Dalmore’s award-winning Master Whisky Maker Gregg Glass, and with the support and expertise of Master Distiller Richard Paterson OBE.
This edition is limited to 20,000 bottles, and presented in special-edition packaging designed by Ben and his team at Foster + Partners.
