The Story: Sir Bryn Terfel & Falstaff

The expression celebrates the world-renowned Welsh bass-baritone Sir Bryn Terfel CBE.

The Role: Specifically, the whisky honors Terfel’s legendary portrayal of Sir John Falstaff in Verdi’s comic opera, Falstaff.
The Character: Falstaff is a Shakespearean character known for being “well-rounded, spicy, and sumptuous”—traits that Penderyn’s master blenders explicitly tried to replicate in the liquid’s profile.
The Design: To reflect the “theatrical” nature of the opera, the bottle is famously encased in a red velvet (flocked) wrap with a gold plaque, mimicking the heavy stage curtains of a grand opera house.
