Macallan Classic Cut 2023:

Cask Selection: This expression was matured in a combination of ex-Bourbon American oak and sherry-seasoned European oak casks. This blend of two distinct wood types is designed to create a complex and balanced flavour profile.

ABV: It is bottled at a robust 50.3% ABV, a strength carefully chosen by The Macallan’s whisky makers to highlight specific flavour notes.

Tasting Experience: A key feature of the Classic Cut releases is the way the flavor profile evolves. When enjoyed at full strength, the whisky showcases one set of notes, but with the addition of a “cut” of water, a new dimension of flavours is revealed.
Tasting Notes :

Colour: Golden Barley.

Nose: Elegant and fragrant, with notes of fresh pear, elderflower, light almond, and rich vanilla pod.

Palate: A sweet and creamy vanilla taste, with juicy pears, lemon peel, and a delicate oakiness.

Finish: A medium finish with sweet oak and almond biscotti. The addition of a drop of water is said to enhance the almond biscotti notes.
