Beginning with the 2018 release, The Macallan moved away from displaying a specific distillation vintage – such as the earlier 1998 Vintage bottling – and adopted a clearly identified annual-release year on the front label and presentation carton. Each annual release is an 18-year-old Highland single malt Scotch whisky, matured exclusively in carefully selected Oloroso sherry-seasoned European oak casks from Jerez, Spain.
