The Macallan 18 Year Old Sherry Oak (2020 Release) is an annual allocation from the distillery’s core flagship collection. Matured exclusively in hand-selected, Oloroso sherry-seasoned European oak casks sourced from Jerez, Spain, this bottling represents the classic, full-bodied Speyside style that built Macallan’s reputation.
Tasting Notes:
Nose: Treacle tart with stem ginger, soaked raisins, and sultanas, complimented by bright orange zest, toasted oak, and ground cinnamon spice.
Palate: Soft, lush, and full-bodied. Layers of dark chocolate-coated ginger, dates, dried apricots, and sweet caramel mingle with warm oak and soft vanilla.
Finish: Long, refined, and warming. Lingering notes of dried fruits, ginger syrup, and wood tannins that leave a dry, elegant oak warmth.
