Its appeal was straightforward: a clearly stated age, sherry-led maturation and an unmistakably Macallan profile. The whisky combined a full layer of fruit and spice with enough freshness to remain approachable, making it suitable both as an introduction to the distillery and as a dependable everyday single malt.

The expression was discontinued in the early 2010s, and late-2000s examples are now recognised as bottlings from a previous period in The Macallan’s development.

Sherry-Cask Maturation
