The Kilchoman 14 Year Old Family Collection holds a uniquely special place within the historic Family Casks 1st Edition, released in May 2026. While the other expressions in this four-part series – the 11, 18, and 20 Year Olds – were made using heavily peated barley sourced from Port Ellen Maltings, the 14 Year Old stands apart as the only 100% Islay release in the collection. Distilled in 2011 from Rockside barley grown, harvested, malted, and distilled entirely on-site at Kilchoman, it offers a deeply authentic expression of the distillery’s farm-to-bottle identity.

Because Kilchoman’s on-site maltings peat barley to a gentler 20ppm, rather than the 50ppm typical of Port Ellen-sourced malt, this whisky reveals a brighter, more delicate, and more farm-driven character. The result is a style that emphasizes elegance, freshness, and the distinctive purity of Kilchoman’s homegrown spirit, making it one of the most individual and compelling releases in the entire collection.
