The Ardnahoe 7 Year Old Feis Ile 2026 Release is a historic and highly sought-after bottling from Islay’s newest operational distillery. Owned by the family-run independent bottler Hunter Laing & Co., Ardnahoe officially opened in 2018, making this release – unveiled on Ardnahoe Day, 27 May 2026 – the oldest single malt the distillery has presented to date. As such, it marks an exciting milestone in Ardnahoe’s early story and offers a compelling glimpse into the future of its spirit.

What makes this whisky especially distinctive is the character of the distillate itself. Despite its youthful age, it delivers a notably heavy, oily, and full-bodied style that sets it apart from many of its Islay neighbours. This comes down to a deliberate production choice: Ardnahoe is the only distillery on Islay to use traditional wooden worm tub condensers. Unlike the more common shell-and-tube condensers, which increase copper contact and create a cleaner, lighter spirit, worm tubs preserve more of the weightier compounds in the distillate. The result is a whisky with a richer, more savoury, and more robust profile, where meaty depth and texture are already beginning to integrate beautifully with the cask at just seven years of age.

Matured entirely in first-fill ex-bourbon barrels, the Ardnahoe 7 Year Old Feis Ile 2026 Release offers a strikingly pure expression of the distillery’s character. The nose reveals toasted oak, vanilla, coconut cream, and fresh pear and green apple, all wrapped in soft maritime smoke. On the palate, its oily texture and natural cask strength bring layers of butterscotch, baked orchard fruit, grilled pineapple, and a distinctive savoury depth shaped by Ardnahoe’s traditional worm tubs. The finish is long, warming, and coastal, with lingering oak spice, caramelised almond, and bonfire smoke.
